Day Trip to Aswan from Luxor

Overview

Travel south by first-class train for a day in Aswan. See the High Dam that changed modern Egypt, the Unfinished Obelisk still lying in its quarry, and Philae Temple on its island in the Nile.

Itinerary

1. Hotel to station

   Transfer from your hotel to Luxor station for the morning train.

2. Aswan High Dam

   Meet your guide in Aswan and visit the dam.

3. Unfinished Obelisk

   See the giant obelisk abandoned in its granite quarry.

4. Lunch

   Lunch at a restaurant in Aswan.

5. Philae Temple

   Take a boat to the island temple of Isis.

6. Train back

   Return to Luxor by train and transfer to your hotel.
